PR-TF 83.5 Camino Real Granadilla-San Miguel

The Camino Real del Sur was built in the second half of the 16th century to communicate the capital with the main towns in the south of the island. This trail is an opportunity to get to know the cultural and ethnographic heritage associated with this important communication route.

The route starts at Las Aguilillas street in the direction of Charco del Pino. It passes through the area of Chiñama, origin of the settlement and whose church is dedicated to San Luis IX King of France. Next to the square there is a detour to the Chiñama viewpoint, with spectacular views of the coastal area.

After crossing the Barranco de La Orchilla ravine, already in the municipality of San Miguel, the path passes by a large threshing floor and the Viña Vieja mansion. The itinerary ends at the Plaza de la Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel, in the Historical Complex of San Miguel, declared a Site of Cultural Interest.
